Brazilizn football player Pele remains in intensive care after surgery to remove a tumor from his colon, the medical team treating him said late on Friday.
The 80-year-old underwent the procedure at Sao Paulo's Albert Einstein hospital on September 4 after the disease of tumor was found during routine tests.
The veteran football player said on Instagram that "I'm going to take a few more days to recover. While I'm here, I'm taking the opportunity to talk a lot with my family and to rest."

According to the bulletin released on hospital: (Edson Arantes do Nascimento) PELE presented brief respiratory instability in the early hours of September 17, and as a preventive measure, was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). After stabilization of the condition, the patient went to semi-intensive care. He is currently stable from the cardiovascular and respiratory point of view, and is still recovering from the abdominal postoperative period.
